Intermountain Health is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to support safe, efficient medication dispensing in a patient-centered environment. In this role, you will process prescriptions, manage refills, handle insurance verifications, and maintain accurate medication inventory. Working closely with pharmacists and clinical teams, you’ll counsel patients on pick-up procedures, ensure regulatory compliance, and support quality and safety initiatives. Assist pharmacists with accurate, timely dispensing of outpatient prescriptions Process new and refill prescriptions, including data entry and insurance verification Provide courteous, informed service to patients at pickup and drop-off Maintain, stock, and rotate medication inventory and supplies Prepare, label, and package medications following safety and regulatory standards Support medication prior authorizations and third-party billing issues Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal pharmacy regulations Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinic staff to support coordinated care Participate in quality, safety, and process-improvement initiatives Maintain a clean, organized, and safe outpatient pharmacy work area Prescription processing Medication dispensing support Insurance and prior authorization processing Patient customer service Pharmacy information systems (e.g., EHR, e-prescribing) Inventory management and restocking Medication labeling and packaging Data entry with accuracy Regulatory and HIPAA compliance Collaboration with pharmacists and clinical staff Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred State pharmacy technician licensure/registration (or eligibility) Knowledge of outpatient pharmacy operations Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems Understanding of HIPAA and medication safety standards
