BJC HealthCare seeks a Retail Pharmacy Technician to support safe, efficient prescription services in our community-focused health system. In this role, you will accurately fill and label prescriptions, process insurance, manage point-of-sale transactions, and maintain inventory under the supervision of a pharmacist. Fill and prepare prescription medications under pharmacist supervision Operate pharmacy software to process and label prescriptions accurately Manage point-of-sale transactions and handle insurance claims Maintain inventory, stock shelves, and check for expired medications Provide courteous customer service and answer basic medication questions Support pharmacists with medication safety and verification workflows Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulations and BJC policies Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards Coordinate with healthcare teams to support patient care needs Prescription filling and dispensing workflows Pharmacy management software (e.g., dispensing systems, EMR interfaces) Retail point-of-sale and cash handling Insurance and pharmacy benefit processing Medication storage, handling, and inventory control Knowledge of generic/brand drug names and dosage forms HIPAA and patient confidentiality compliance Customer service in a healthcare setting Medication safety and quality control procedures Basic math and dosage calculations Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active or eligibility for Pharmacy Technician certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT) preferred State pharmacy technician registration or licensure as required by Missouri Experience with retail pharmacy or electronic pharmacy systems a plus
